Libyan FM and senior Arab League official discuss how to achieve elections in Libya

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Senior Libyan and Arab League officials on Monday discussed the political process in Libya and the achievement of national elections in accordance with an agreed constitutional framework as soon as possible.

Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity (NGU), Najla Al-Mangouch, and the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, also discussed other common issues including the latest developments in the Arab region. 

Al-Mangouch and Aboul Gheit exchanged views during their meeting in Cairo, Egypt, on a number of topics and the preparations for the 158th session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, which will be held on Tuesday in Cairo under the chairmanship of Libya.

According to a statement of the Libyan Foreign Ministry, the two officials also exchanged views on unifying positions on the various challenges facing Arab countries and supporting areas of cooperation that promote common interests among the member states of the League of Arab States and support the joint Arab action process.
