Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The 31st meeting of the Management Committee of the 5 + 5 Defense Initiative, organized by the Maltese Presidency for the year 2020, was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, via videoconference, with the participation of representatives of the management committees of the 10 member countries devoted to the review of the training programme and prospects.
The Defense 5 + 5 Initiative Group includes the countries of the Western Mediterranean Basin: Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Tunisia, France, Spain, Italy, Malta and Portugal.
In a statement, released on Wednesday, the Libyan Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Accord, underlined the participation of the Committee of Libyan Directors in the meeting which focused on a presentation of the schedule of courses planned for the Defense Academy 5 + 5 and discussed training prospects until 2024.
According to the press release, the results of the work of the research committee of the Euro-Maghreb Center for Research and Strategic Studies have been presented, and the approval of the selection of research subjects for the year 2021 conducted by Libya has been presented. The work plan for the current year was also assessed as well as the proposed work plan scheduled for 2021 for the initiative.
