Libya holds symposium on media education
Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - A symposium under the theme "Media Education Outcomes in Libya... Ways and Means" Monday began discussions on the reality of media education programmes in Libyan universities and ways to develop them.
It also discussed the relationship between media education outcomes and the media economy and industry, as well as the paths taken by graduates of media departments in the job market.
Participants at the symposium, organized by the Media Professionals Support Fund with the participation of a group of elite managers, academics and media professionals, also discussed the experiences of Libyan media institutions with media education graduates, the efforts of the responsible authorities to respond to educational outputs and the fate of media graduates according to current data, said a statement issued on Monday by the Government Media Directorate.
The meeting discussed ways of aligning educational results with the media job market, developing educational programmes and keeping pace with the main Arab experiences in the region, in addition to developing special training programmes for media workers and young graduates.
The symposium highlighted ways of advancing Libyan journalists in the international media market, reviewed successful models of Libyan media professionals in Arab and international media institutions.
