Libya: Weapons discovered at al-Wattia base will serve as evidence against foreign countries supporting Haftar

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Mohamed Siala, on Monday promised to document the evidence found at the al-Wattia military airbase (southwest) taken over from forces of Marshal Khalifa Haftar to serve as evidence against "violations" committed by the countries which support him.

In a statement, Siala said the foreign ministry will work with the relevant ministries to "document the violations by countries supporting Haftar with the weapons found at al-Wattia air base".

The press release published on the website of the ministry's external communication directorate indicated that "the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will present its conclusions to the UN Security Council and to the Sanctions Committee which must assume their responsibilities with regard to these violations."

He continued: "We will work with all forces with all peaceful international powers to establish justice and build a civil and democratic state in which all Libyans enjoy freedom and justice."

The Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord announced that its forces managed to take control of the al-Wattia military air base early Monday morning, inflicting a huge loss to the camp of Marshal Khalifa Haftar who sees his ambitions to take the control of the country reduced to nothing.
