LRA rebels, Mbororo nomads worry AU

Kinshasa, DR Congo (PANA) - The African Union (AU) has expressed worry over the issue of the Ugandan rebels of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) and the Mbororo nomads in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the special representative of the president of the AU Commission, Emmanuel Mendoume Nze disclosed here Monday.

Mr. Nze said after talks with the vice-Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior and Security, Adolphe Lumanu Mulenda, that the problem of the LRA and the Mbororo nomads would be an agenda that would be put in place when the AU has obtained all the information directly from the countries involved, notably the DRC, the Central African Republic, Uganda and Sudan, in its southern part.

At the head of the delegation of the AU Defence and Security Commission, Nze said their mission in the DRC fell within the framework of the evaluation of the situation in this part of the DRC, in the provision of the holding of a consultation meeting in order to put an end to these two phenomena, which are the source of insecurity in the north-east of the DRC.
