LAS Executive Council meeting in Cairo to discuss situation in Libya

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The 156th session of the Council of the League of Arab States (LAS) began on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt, at the level of foreign ministers devoted to central Arab issues including the situation in Libya.

Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Najla Al-Mangouch is attending the meeting which is chaired by the State of Kuwait, the current president of the Council.

The session is set to discussed a number of issues, including the Palestinian issue, in addition to the latest developments in the Libyan arena.

Other items on the agenda are developments in Syria, Yemen and Lebanon as well as the security of navigation and energy supply in the Arab Gulf region, according to a statement issued by the Libyan Foreign Ministry.

The agenda also includes items related to support for peace and development in Sudan, support for Somalia, the Comoros, the Arab-African cooperation process and the Arab-European dialogue.
