Kagame accepts resignation of two ministers

Kigali, Rwanda (PANA) - Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Thursday accepted the resignation of two State Ministers who tendered their resignation last week over various charges, including assault and alleged corruption.

The  minister of state in charge of Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Evode Uwizeyimana, and his counterpart in charge of Primary and Secondary Education, Issac Munyakazi, tendered their resignation letters to Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente.

Uwizeyimana has resigned just a few days after he assaulted a security guard at  a business complex in Kigali.

Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) confirmed on Thursday the case has been handed over to the Prosecution to ascertain what happened in regard to the incident.

Both Mr Uwizeyimana and Dr Munyakazi were  appointed to President Kagame’s cabinet in 2016.
