Italian interior minister arrives in Tripoli

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The acting Libyan Minister of the Interior of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Major General Imad Mustafa Al-Trabelsi, on Monday received his Italian counterpart, Matteo Piantedosi, in Tripoli as part of an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.

A welcoming ceremony was held in honour of the Italian Minister attended by several senior officials from the Libyan ministry.

An official statement said the visit is part of joint efforts to strengthen coordination and cooperation in security, border control, fight against irregular immigration and exchange of expertise between the two countries.
