Guinean, Mauritanian presidents in Bamako for 18th OMVS Summit

Bamako, Mali (PANA)   -  Presidents Alpha Condé of Guinea and Mohamed ould Cheich Mohamed Ahmed El Ghazouani of Mauritanian arrived here Friday to attend the 18th conference of heads of state and government of the Organisation of the Senegal River Valley (OMVS), official sources told PANA.

According to the same sources, the Senegalese president is expected on here Saturday morning in Bamako for the same reasons.

The meeting, which opens on Saturday in the Malian capital, will among other issues focus on the navigation  resources and environment.

The OMVS, which is a sub-regional organisation bringing together Mali, Senegal, Mauritania and Guinea, was set up in March 1972 to facilitate the integration and coordinated development of the Senegalese River basin.
