Gambian leader declares Friday, Monday Easter Holidays

Banjul, Gambia (PANA) - The Gambian President, Adama Barrow, has declared Friday, 30 March, and Monday, 2 April, as public holidays throughout the country, for the 2018 Easter celebrations of Good Friday and Easter Monday.

According to a statement made available to PANA by the Presidency media team on Wednesday, the Gambian leader has extended his best wishes to the Christian Community who had just gone through 40 days of fasting and prayers in commemoration of Easter.

He further urges all Gambians to work together for peaceful co-existence and reconciliation.
