Gabon: President Ali Bongo meets with AU Commission chairman Moussa Faki Mahamat

Libreville, Gabon (PANA)  -  The chairman of the African Union Commission (AUC), Moussa Faki Mahamat, and the representative of the UN Secretary-general in Central Africa, François Lounceny Fall, on Friday praised the leadership of President Ali Bongo Ondimba for his commitment to the successful reform of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), official source said.

The commendation followed talks at the 9th session of the ECCAS heads of state and government to discuss the institutional reform of the organisation.

The Gabonese president, who carries out ECCAS presidency, also sought the will and availability of AU and the UN to assist ECCAS in its modernization process to become a more viable and dynamic organisation.

The ECCAS brings together Angola, Burundi, Cameroun, Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe and Chad.
