GNA Chief, Fayez Al-Sarraj, discusses developments in Libya with Qatari, Turkish Defence Ministers

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Chairman of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) in Libya, Fayez Al-Sarraj, met on Monday with Turkish Defence Minister, Hulusi Akar, and that of Qatar, Khaled Bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah, on developments in Libya and activities around Sirte and Al-Jafra.

The meeting was attended by members of the two delegations accompanying the two ministers, including the Chief of Staff of Turkey, the ambassadors of the two countries in Libya and senior officials from both countries and Libya, the Vice Chairman of the Presidential Council, Ahmed Maitig, the Deputy Minister of Defense, the Chief of General Staff and the Commander of the Western Military Region.

"The talks focused on developments in Libya and military build-up in the eastern Sirte and Al-Jafra regions," a statement from the Presidential Council's information office said.

According to the statement, the talks also covered "the areas of military and security cooperation and programmes to strengthen the security and defence capabilities of the GNA's forces, in addition to coordination mechanisms between the three countries' defence ministries".
