G5 Sahel war against terrorism "is also ideological"
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - Niger's President Mahamadou Issoufou said on Tuesday in Ouagadougou that "the fight against terrorism is also ideological".
Speaking at the opening of the 5th Summit of G5 Sahel Heads of State, the Nigerien leader said that "the fight against terrorism is inseparable from the struggle for development."
"We must organise the ideological response in the space of the G5 Sahel, together we will overcome terrorism and organized crime," added Issoufou, whose country is to hand over the presidency of the institution to Burkina Faso at the end of this session.
G5 Sahel, which includes Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, and Chad, is an integrated area of development and security for the benefit of the people.
