French President pays tribute to the memory of Amadou Gon Coulibaly

Paris, France (PANA) - Eulogising the late Ivorian Prime Minister, Amadou Gon Coulibaly, French President Emmanuel Macron, called him "a great servant of Côte d'Ivoire, an architect of its economic recovery and a faithful friend of France".

The Elysée Palace, in a statement, quoted said President Macron In this moment of mourning, France expresses its unwavering solidarity with Côte d'Ivoire and its people and will continue to engage, at its side, on the path of peace and reconciliation," said Thursday,

The French Head of State, the same source added, associates himself with the immense sadness of President Alassane Ouattara and offers his condolences to the Ivorian people and the family of Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly.

The Ivorian Prime Minister died on Wednesday in Abidjan while in the middle of a meeting of Ministers after his return to Cote d'Ivoire from France on 2 July, where he spent two months recovering from treatment of heart problems.

Amadou Gon Coulibaly was the candidate of the Rally of Houphouëtistes pour la Démocratie et la Paix (RHDP) for the October 2020 presidential election in Côte d'Ivoire.
