France slams arrest warrant issued by Haftar’s prosecutor against authorities in Tripoli

Paris, France (PANA) – The spokesperson for the French foreign affairs ministry, Agnès von der Mühll, regrets the issuance of an arrest warrant against Fayez Sarraj and other civilian and military officials of the government of national accord for ‘’betrayal’’ by the military general prosecutor of the Libyan national army, led by Marshall Khalifa Haftar, 

 

Hafter has also accused Sarraj of supporting terrorist groups and collusion with foreign countries.

 

The military general's prosecutor of the LNA, Lt.-Gen. Faraj al-Sousaa, issued an arrest warrant made public on Friday against the chairman of the Libyan presidential council and his three assistants, accused ‘’of committing crime to facilitate the war against the Libyan government, and to raise the spirit of the political and military defeat, and the destruction of military installations’’.

 

‘’We regret that decision," said Agnes von der Mühll, communications and press director and spokesperson for the foreign affairs ministry, adding that the EU senior representative for foreign policy expressed deep concern from EU member countries, including France, over the participation in fighting of the armed groups led by figures listed by the UN in their terrorist activities, as well as criminal groups.
