Forestry post attacked in western Burkina Faso, no casualties reported

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - An unidentified armed group on early Monday 21 February 2022, attacked the forest post of Bekuy in the province of Tuy, Haut-Bassins region (West), the General Directorate of Water and Forests announced in a statement.

It, however, said there was no loss of human life but said there was some material damage.

The Director General of Water and Forests thanked the elements engaged at this post and all staff for the work done to repel the attack.

He also invited them to be more vigilant and professional in the execution of their missions.
