Federation for universal peace for Africa Region organizes summit

Niamey, Niger (PANA) - The Federation for Universal Peace for the Africa Region will in November organize a continental summit under the theme "Building a Peaceful, United, and Prosperous Africa Centered on Universal Ethical Values", an official source said here Friday.

Paterne Zinsou, Secretary General of the Federation, after a meeting with the Nigerien head of state, informed the press about the summit.

"It is an important meeting that will bring together around 2000 people and whose goal is to contribute to the fulfillment of Africa's dream: the dream of a united Africa, a peaceful Africa, a prosperous Africa," he said on behalf of a delegation led by the president of the Federation for Universal Peace for the Africa Region, Mrs. Kathérine Rigney.

The choice of Niamey to host this important international meeting, he argued, was the result of the desire of the founder to support the leadership and especially the governance led by the President of the Republic of Niger, Issoufou Mahamadou, to give "a new image to this African continent, based on moral values".

"We have come to meet the President of the Republic to gather, not only his advice by his wisdom, because we have seen how the Summit of the African Union was led by His Excellency masterfully and the long-awaited dream by the African Union since 1963, has been achieved by the launch of the African Free Trade Area.

"We believe that launching the first Continental Africa Summit here in Niamey is indeed to give a new impetus and a new vitality to this commitment and this goal," said Zinsou.

He indicated that the Summit would be held from 28-30 November, 2019, in Niamey with several activities bringing together about 2000 participants from all socio-professional, confessional and diplomatic categories.

"Several resolutions and new recommendations will be expected at the end of this Summit so that the efforts of African leaders can become a substantial reality not only for the benefit of the people, but also for the reconstruction of an image of Africa that can honor this continent,” he said.
