Fayez Al-Sarraj vows to hand to ICC dossiers of war crimes and violations committed during Tripoli attack

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The chairman of the Libyan presidential council of the government of national accord, Fayez al-Sarraj, has said that lLibyan courts will provide the International Criminal Court (ICC) will full dossiers on war crimes and violations of the law following attacks on Tripoli.. The announcement was made in an interview on the phone on Wednesday evening between Mr al-Sarraj and the ICC public prosecutor Fatou Bensouda, according to a communique issued by the press office of the presidential council. Mrs Bensouda deplored the attacks, adding that she condemned the fact of taking civilians as targets and endangering their lives. A fighter jet of the Libyan national army on Monday carried out air strikes on Maitigua airport, eastern suburb of Tripoli, causing the suspension of the air navigation which resumed the following day and suspension of classes in schools near the airport. The presidential council chairman described the strike as war crime while the UN envoy in Libya said it is a crime against humanitarian laws. The International Criminal Court will not hesitate to indict the persons accused of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide, in accordance with the definitions of the international law, said Mrs Bensouda.
