Ethiopian Airlines to resume flights to Somalia in November

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (PANA) - Ethiopian airlines will on 2 November resume flights to the Somali capital, Mogadishu, 41 years after the interruption of its flights to that destination.

It will initially fly three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, a statement received by PANA stated.

The general manager of Ethiopian Airlines, Tewolde GebreMariam, said he is glad that the airline will resume flights to Mogadishu, adding that it will play an important role in the strengthening of interpersonal and economic relationships between the two neighbouring countries.

"The flights will also enable Somalis in the USA, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa to travel to their native country via Addis Ababa thanks to our world network of more than 116 international destinations," Mr. GrebeMariam added.
