Ethiopian Airlines inaugurates flights to Bangalore in October

Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) - Ethiopian Airlines has announced flights to Bangalore, India, from 27 October.


The airline said its Addis Ababa-Bangalore link will have four weekly flights.


Ethiopian Airlines General Manager Tewolde Gebre-Mariam noted that adding Bangalore to the Indian network will provide opportunities for choice for increased  travellers between India and Africa and beyond.


"Increased flights and links in India will facilitate trade, investment and tourism to and from the Indian subcontinent," he said.

"The plan is carefully designed to connect passengers efficiently through our global hub in Addis Ababa with short connections and will provide the fastest and shortest connections between Bangalore in South India and more than 60 destinations in Africa and South America, "added Gebre-Mariam.


Bangalore, capital of the Indian state of Karnataka, is nicknamed the "Silicon Valley of India" and serves as a centre of technology and innovation.


Ethiopian Airlines currently operates two daily flights to Mumbai and New Delhi.
It also operates a freight service to Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi.

Currently, the airline flies to 120 international destinations on five continents.
