Eritrean leader Afwerki in Sudan

Khartoum, Sudan (PANA) - President Asias Afwerki of Eritrea arrived in Khartoum on Saturday for a two-day visit to the Sudan, the first to the country since 2014 and following tense relations with the Sudan shortly before President Omar Bashir’s ouster in April 2019.

President Afwerki was received by the airport by the President of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Lt Gen Abdul Fatah Al Burhan.

President Afwerki is expected during his two-day stay in Khartoum to confer with the Prime Minister Dr Abdullah Hamdouk, as well as with a member of the sovereign council, Lt Gen Hamdan Dalgo.

Their discussions will be on realization of peace in Sudan and how his country could help.
