Egypt following developments in Sudan
Cairo, Egypt (PANA) – Egypt ‘’is following attentively and with great interest the accelerating developments in Sudan in this decisive period of its modern history," the Egyptian ministry of foreign affairs said on Thursday in reaction to the coup by the Sudanese army.
In a communiqué issued on Thursday, the ministry reaffirmed ‘’Egypt’s full support to the choices of the Sudanese people and its will to determine the future of the country in this decisive period, by focusing on Egypt’s constant position to the total respect of Sudan’s sovereignty’’.
It expressed Egypt’s full confidence in the capacity of the Sudanese people and its national army to overcome this decisive period and the challenges the country will have to take up, reaffirming its constant determination to strengthen the authentic relations between the two peoples of the Nile Delta on the basis of the common destiny that links the two peoples.
The Egyptian ministry of foreign affairs called the international community to back the choice of the Sudanese people and everything that will be the object of agreement, urging the ‘’fellow countries’’ to support Sudan to achieve a peaceful transition towards brighter future’’.
