ECOWAS condemns terror attacks in Côte d'Ivoire

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has condemned the latest terror attacks in the localities of Kafolo and Kolobougou in Côte d'Ivoire, which claimed the lives of three members of the Defence and Security Forces and left several wounded.

By condemning these "cowardly attacks with the greatest firmness", the President of the Commission assures the Ivorian government and people of its deep solidarity, the ECOWAS said in a press release.

"It is in this spirit that it presents to them, as well as to the bereaved families, the most saddened condolences of all the heads of institution of ECOWAS, with their wishes of speedy recovery to the wounded", it stated.

The ECOWAS Commission has reiterated its calls for greater solidarity from the international community with ECOWAS Member States in their mobilization against terrorism, as well as with the ECOWAS Commission in implementation of the Priority Action Plan 2020-2024 on the eradication of terrorism in West Africa.

The terror attacks occurred that occurred in Kafolo and Kolobougou localities at night on March 28.
