ECOWAS chairman 'encouraged' by developments in Mali

Bamako, Mali (PANA) - The current chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Ghana's President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is "very encouraged by the developments in Mali", his special envoy to Mali, Daniel Kufuor Osei said on Thursday in Bamako.

Mr. Osei made the statement at the end of a meeting with the President of the Transition in Mali, Bah N'Daw.

He said President Akufo-Addo sent him to Mali, at the head of a large delegation, to convey a message of encouragement to the authorities for what they are doing.

Mr. N'Daw visited Ghana on 12 November during which he welcomed efforts made by the Ghanaian President in the resolution of the Malian crisis.
