Didier Drogba aims at presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (PANA) - What was a rumor, until a few weeks ago, is becoming clear, about former international Didier Drogba ambition.

 

Indeed, Drogba has moved to another stage in his march towards the presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation.


In a statement, a copy of which PANA obtained on Tuesday, the former captain of the Elephants of Côte d'Ivoire has invited  presidents of football clubs of different championships of D3, D2 and D1 to a meeting.


He will on 13 November, meet with the presidents third division clubs, on 14 November with presidents of the second division clubs, before meeting with those of league 1.


The agenda of these meetings was not specified, but it is recalled that Drogba has already disclosed his interest in the chair of President of the Ivorian Football Federation.

 

A support club for Drogba's candidacy has also appeared on Facebook.


The election for the presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation is scheduled for  December. Incumbent president Sidi Diallo is not a candidate for his succession.
