Curfew extended for 45 days in the Sahel region of Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The curfew introduced as part of the fight against terrorism has been extended for 45 days in the Sahel region of Burkina Faso, an official source said.

In a statement, the governor of the region, Lieutenant-Colonel Rodolphe Sorgho, announced that the measure takes effect from Tuesday.

For the communes of Bani, Falangountou, Sampela, Seytenga, Gorom-Gorom, Markoye and Sebba the curfew starts at 10pm and ends at 4am and from midnight to 4am for the town of Djibo.

For the rest of the region, except for the capital of the region, Dori, the curfew starts at 7pm and ends at 5am.
