Cote d'Ivoire to celebrate National Peace Day on 15 November

Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (PANA) - Côte d'Ivoire will celebrate the National Peace Day on 15 November in the commune of Yopougon, north of Abidjan, the economic capital, according to the statement issued on Wednesday after the Council of Ministers meeting.

"Beyond words, let us act together for a peaceful electoral environment" will be the theme of this National Peace Day and responds, according to the statement, to an imperative need for all socio-political actors to strengthen their actions in support of the preservation of peace in Côte d'Ivoire.

The 2019 edition of the National Peace Day is an invitation to all actors to work together with the government to strengthen social cohesion and consolidate peace in the run-up to the 2020 elections.

The programme includes activities to promote peace and the decoration of personalities that have distinguished themselves in actions to promote cohesion and peace.
