Côte d'Ivoire joins Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (PANA) - Côte d'Ivoire has joined the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action to benefit from the experience and expertise of technical and financial partners, official sources said.

This will enable Côte d'Ivoire to implement, with the support of developed countries, mechanisms and instruments for climate finance, to establish effective carbon pricing and promote a private financial sector conducive to climate finance reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Coalition was launched in April 2019, on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Spring Meetings, to help states integrate the challenges of climate change into their various macroeconomic and fiscal policies, in order to promote the development of mechanisms and practices in line with climate finance.
