Côte d'Ivoire establishes register for poor, vulnerable households

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (PANA) - The Ivorian government adopted a decree on Wednesday establishing the Single Social Register for Poor and Vulnerable Households (RSU) to identify those potentially eligible for various social protection and anti-poverty programmes, including the Government Social Programme (PSGouv).

The RSU is an information and data management system that will be used to identify, from socio-economic variables, all poor and vulnerable households.

The RSU database will ensure the rigorous selection and monitoring of the care of beneficiaries of government social programmes targeting poor or vulnerable households and individuals.

These include monetary and non-monetary transfers, Universal Health Coverage (CMU) and all other measures in social protection, health, education and solidarity, linked to subsidies made with public or private resources.

Registration for the RSU does not automatically citizens to a social benefit.
