Cote d'Ivoire: Security forces lay siege at opponent Henri Konan Bédié's home

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The home of opponent Henri Konan Bédié, who has rejected the results of the presidential polls, was surrounded on Tuesday by Ivorian security forces.

The results returned incumbent president Alassane Ouattara, to a third-term as president.

According to witnesses quoted by the local press, a hundred policemen dispersed a group of journalists and activists and prevented a scheduled press conference Bédié's home.

Shortly before the proclamation of the results, the opposition, which continues to call for civil unrest, described the vote as sham, and announced the creation of a National Transitional Council, chaired by Mr. Bédié, President of the PDCI-RDA and of the CDR platform.
