Coronavirus: Zambia’s confirmed COVID -19 cases now stand at 74

Lusaka, Zambia (PANA) – Zambia has in the last 24 hours recorded four new positive cases of Coronavirus and among them a doctor, Health minister Chitalu Chilufya announced at a press briefing in Lusaka on Wednesday.

The case of a doctor, brings to five, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases involving health workers.

Among them are four health workers serving at the Levy Mwanawasa COVID-19 centre in Lusaka and the fifth is a medical doctor from Chilenje Hospital, also in Lusaka. where one death of Coronavirus was recorded.

The minister said Zambia is engaging some of the retired health workers to help enforce the fight  against CONVID-19.

The COVID-19 confirmed cases in Zambia now stand at 74, with three deaths, 35 discharges and 36 active cases.
