Congolese government warns ex-ninja combattants in the Pool region

Brazzaville, Congo (PANA) -  Congolese Minister of Primary, Secondary  Education and Literacy Anatole Collinet Makosso warned ex-ninja combattants on Wednesday in Mindouli, about 100 kilometres south of Brazzaville in the Pool department, following the assault of a teacher of the secondary school.

Makosso spoke during discussions with the faculty in Mindouli where a group of ex-ninja combattants had assaulted the director of studies at Massounga College in the town.

"We do not want people who have shown patriotism and courage to be intimidated by those who aim to sow trouble with practices of violence to destroy Congolese youth",  he said.

Makosso called on teachers to bring those responsible for vandalism in schools to the disciplinary council.

The assault sparked outrage from teachers who decided to suspend classes for a few days.
