Congo: Congo to host contemporary art festival in September
Brazzaville, Congo (PANA) – A contemporary art festival, whose theme is "The textile", will be held from 8-28 September in the Congolese capital, Brazzaville, with participants drawn from Cameroon, Senegal and Benin, the Congolese ministry of Culture and Arts said here on Tuesday.
The festival is aimed at improving the working conditions of artists, giving them the means to showcase their products to the international scene and promoting their creativity and projecting the new generations of Congolese artists to the international scene.
Congo will be represented in the festival by artists from the cities of Pointe-Noire and Brazzaville.
During the festival, there will be exhibitions, conferences and cinema that will be organized by Frenchman Dominique Wallon, former Managing Director of the National cinematography Centre.
