Commercial activities resume at border crossing between Tunisia and Libya

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA)  -  Trade and exchanges officially resumed on Tuesday at the main border crossing, Ras Jadir, between Tunisia and Libya, reliable sources told PANA here.

The authorities of both countries took measures to accommodate vehicles that began to converge at the crossing, filled with goods which value is estimated at 10,000 Libyan dinars.

Several traders who were involved in exchanges between the two countries welcomed the decision to restore the operation of the border which will allow them to resume their activities, their only sources of earning a living.

It is recalled that the border Ras Jadir underwent, in the past, measures of closure decided sometimes by Tunisia and sometimes by Libya.

These closures provoked protest movements by Tunisian traders which blocked transportation between the two countries and caused inconvenience to the sick and the elderly.
