Climate change could push 100 million people into poverty by 2030 (Declaration)


Niamey, Niger (PANA) - Climate change has an impact on resource availability; its impact on poverty is well documented: It is estimated that there could be 100 million people in the world by 2030, while air pollution, responsible for seven million premature deaths per year, will lead to direct health costs that would reach four billion dollars per year by 2030, said Nigerien President Issoufou Mahamadou at the Sahel Climate Commission summit in Niamey
