Chairman of Libyan Presidential Council attends fourth AU biannual coordination meeting

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, on Sunday participated in the fourth biannual coordination meeting of the African Union (AU) in Lusaka, Zambia, said a statement issued on Sunday by the Presidential Council.

He attended the meeting, which was devoted to a number of issues including the continental organisation's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, in his capacity as deputy chairperson of the AU and chairperson of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU). 

The meeting also discussed the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area, the evaluation of the implementation of the first 10-year plan, the development of the second 10-year plan for the implementation of Agenda 2063 and the state of continental integration in Africa.

Also on the table was cooperation between regional economic communities and the division of labour between them and the African Union.

The meeting is chaired by Senegalese President Macky Sall, current chairperson of the AU.
