Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - ECOWAS Commission president Jean-Claude Kassi Brou has directed that the closure of the ECOWAS offices in Abuja and Lagos be extended until 4 May 2020, according to a statement received by PANA in Ouagadougou on Tuesday
His decision follows the extension of the lockdown imposed by the government of Nigeria, as part of measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Consequently, all employees of the ECOWAS institutions in Abuja and Lagos will continue to stay and work from home until further notice while following the directives and advice on the COVID-19 pandemic issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Nigerian authorities.
