CNCE becomes People's Bank of Côte d'Ivoire

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (PANA) - The Caisse Nationale des Caisses d'Epargne (CNCE), a 100 per cent state-owned bank, has become the People's Bank of Côte d'Ivoire, it was officially announced on Tuesday by the institution's new management team.

The name change follows the restructuring and recapitalization plan of the bank, adopted in May 2017 by the State of Côte d'Ivoire, to break definitively with  difficulties of the past and project itself into a future model bank.

The short-term objectives of the People's Bank of Côte d'Ivoire, in which the State has injected 53 billion CFA francs, are to reposition itself in terms of territorial coverage, to get closer to the population  and to build a reputation in the country's banking ecosystem.

The People's Bank of Côte d'Ivoire targets the popular class, the middle class and SMEs with innovative and adapted products.
