CHAN 2016: Nigeria, Niger sent packing as Tunisia, Guinea go through to quarters

Kigali, Rwanda (PANA) - Nigeria, winners of the bronze medal in 2014, and Niger were on Tuesday eliminated from the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN 2016).

Nigeria was beaten 1-0 by Guinea and Niger was humiliated 5-0 by Tunisia in the final Group C matches Friday.

Against Nigeria, the Guineans scored their lone goal in the 45th minute through Ibrahima Sankhon.

The defeat toppled Nigeria from Group C leadership and sent them home, handing Tunisia a quarter-final berth with 5 points.

Guinea also qualified for the quarters on 5 points.
