Rabat, Morocco (PANA) - The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Sunday in Salé, Morocco, expressed its intention to continue the partnership with world football governing body, FIFA, to begin the necessary reforms concerning refereeing, infrastructure, competitions and governance, based on documents prepared by the Reform Task Force, according to a CAF statement.

At the end of its meeting on CAF-FIFA cooperation, the CAF Executive Committee decided, after noting the agreement's completion and being aware of all the reports, to continue the partnership between them.

CAF expressed its gratitude to FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Secretary-General Fatma Samoura for their commitment and involvement in the CAF-FIFA cooperation for the development of African football.

CAF also decided to immediately implement all the obvious aspects of financial and administrative management and to ensure the effective independence of the judicial bodies as approved by the Executive Committee and to continue the discussion and exchange on the legal and statutory aspects, the statement added.

Speaking at the end of the closing session on "The development of football infrastructure and competitions in Africa", Infantino stressed the need to increase investment in African football, with the aim of promoting it and making it one of the world's elite.

Mr. Infantino noted that promoting African football requires the development of infrastructure, establishment of good governance, upgrading of refereeing and reform of competitions at the level of all age groups and clubs, while providing an appropriate climate for football practice.
