CAF Secretary-General, Mouad Hajji, resigns

Dakar, Senegal (PANA) – Moroccan Mouad Hajji on Monday resigned from his post as Secretary-General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), less than a year after his appointment on 11 April, 2019.

To justify his resignation, Mr Hajji stressed personal motives and said he wanted to return to his country as soon as possible.

He thanked the CAF president, Ahmad Ahmad, for giving him the opportunity to serve football family in Africa at a high level of responsibility, and wished that the numerous reforms undertaken since 2017 will bring the expected results.

In his reaction, the CAF President said he was pleased with Hajji's remarkable job in the reforms of the African football governing body, and called the Moroccan a committed, loyal and football passionate partner.
