Burkinabè President meets with EU military officials

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The President of Burkina Faso, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, on Tuesday met with the Commander of the European Union (EU) training missions during which they discussed the capacity of the Burkinabè armed forces in order to fight terrorism, the Presidency announced in a press release.

Kabore's meeting was with the Director General of the General Staff of the European Union, Commander of the training missions of the European Union, the vice-Admiral Hervé Bléjean, also Director of the European Union's military leadership and planning capacity.

He was accompanied by General Fernando Garcia Blàzquez, commander of the European Union training mission in Mali.

According to the press release, the exchanges between Kabore and these two senior EU military officials focused on the possibilities of building the capacities of "our armed forces and on the missions of the military capacity for the conduct and planning of the European Union.

"Today, thanks to the evolution of the mandate of this mission, we can offer our services at the invitation of the President of Burkina Faso to offer the armed forces of Burkina Faso training and advice depending on what he wants us to achieve and their priorities,” said Vice-Admiral Bléjean.
