Burkina Faso registers 1,049,767 internally displaced persons as of November 10

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - Burkina Faso recorded 1,049,767 internally displaced persons (IDPs) as of November 10, an increase of about 1.47% compared to the situation in September 2020, PANA learned on Wednesday from the National Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (CONASUR).

The Center-North region recorded the largest number of IDPs with 430,191 cases, or 41.0%, followed by the Sahel region with 344,569, or 32.8%, and the north with 76,218 cases, or 7, 3%.

These people who fled the terrorist attacks in the Sahel and Center-North provinces, found refuge in 257 communes of Burkina Faso.

Since 2015, Burkina Faso has been hit by terrorists who killed many victims.
