Burkina Faso president to attend 1st Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - Burkina Faso's President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré will attend on 23-24 October the first Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi, Russia, his communications office said in an official statement on Monday.

According to the statement, the meeting, which will be co-chaired by the Russian and Egyptian presidents, Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, who is also current chairman of the African Union, aims to build bridges for closer cooperation between Russia and Africa.

The summit will be coupled with an economic forum, which, for Burkina Faso, is the starting point for a new dynamic of fruitful bilateral cooperation with Russia, the presidency's statement added.
