Burkina Faso announces suspected case of Ebola

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The Ministry of Health of Burkina Faso announced on Sunday evening that a suspected case of Ebola virus disease has been detected at a health centre in Ouagadougou.

The 22-year-old patient arrived in Burkina Faso from Côte d'Ivoire two days ago, an official statement said.

After visiting two health facilities in the health district of Ziniaré in the Central Plateau Region, he was received in the medical emergency room of Bogodogo hospital on Sunday.

The patient has been isolated in accordance with recommended standards and a diagnostic and management process is underway.

The Ministry of Health has urged the population to respect disease prevention measures.
