Burkina Faso: Opposition advocates "ad-hoc solutions" to terrorism

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The Burkinabè political opposition rose from a meeting on Tuesday after 24 soldiers were killed in a deadly terrorist attack, recommending an "ad-hoc solution" to the phenomenon of terrorism.

"It is becoming more and more clear that the solution to this crisis is not only military, so it is time to consider ad-hoc solutions," the political opposition advocated after a crisis meeting in Paris.

It strongly called on the President of Burkina Faso and his government to strengthen the operational capacity of the Defense and Security Forces.

Aa communique issued at the end of the meeting said "this attack comes, once again, to expose the deficiencies of the policy of our government in terms of defense of the territory and security of the citizens".

The opposition "urges the President of Burkina Faso to employ all the technical skills at his disposal to help put an end to these barbaric attacks".
