Burkina Faso Army says it carried out 53 security operations. neutralized 19 terrorists this month

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The Burkina Faso Army carried out 53 security operations that resulted in the neutralization of 19 terrorists from 5 to 14 June, the General Staff of the Armed Forces announced in a bulletin published on Tuesday.

The bulletin states that the army conducted the operations to secure markets and places of worship. It discovered and destroyed 4 improvised explosive devices and conducted 11 air operations.

According to the bulletin, on 12 June, 19 terrorists were neutralized, including 7 in an ambush on a unit of the Sollé detachment on a reconnaissance mission to Petenaye and 12 others in the attack on the Kelbo Detachment in Soum province, where one soldier was killed and five others wounded on 9 June.

Two other soldiers were killed on Saturday 6 June in the improvised explosive device attack on the outskirts of Mentao by a section of the Djibo detachment.
