Brazilian Embraer seeks position in Gabon

Libreville, Gabon (PANA) - The commercial director of the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer, Gad Wavomba, plans to introduce this brand of plane in Gabon after he made a presentation to the Minister of Transport, Léon Armel Bounda Balonzi, PANA learned on Monday in Libreville from an official source.

The meeting with the Gabonese authorities had been organized by the Brazilian ambassador to Gabon, Appio Claudio Acqurone, with a presentation of several aircraft that could improve the performance of local airlines.

Gabon no longer has a national airline. Existing companies are private and mainly national.

Among the aircraft presented was the Embraer 195, an aircraft launched in 2013 and which entered into service in 2019.

According to Gad Wavomba, the new version of this aircraft can accommodate 120 passengers in its standard configuration with two classes and up to 146 passengers in single class.

Embraer offers this aircraft which can reduce its in-flight fuel consumption by 20% and considers it an ideal aircraft for both regional and international airline growth.

Gabon has been invited to take part in the Embraer aircraft exhibition in March 2020 in Brazil, according to sources.

Embraer is a Brazilian aircraft manufacturer specializing in small and medium civil aircraft used in regional, business and agricultural aviation until 2018.

The company also builds fighter jets, remote sensing and authority transport aircraft.
