Botswana congratulates US President-elect Joe Biden

Gaborone, Botswana (PANA) - Botswana's President Mokgweetsi Masisi on Sunday congratulated US President-elect Joe Biden saying Americans have bestowed trust on him by electing him the 46th President of the United States of America.

In his message, Masisi said that Biden's  victory is a clear testament of the trust and confidence that the people of America have bestowed upon him and his running mate, Mrs. Kamala Harris to lead their great nation to prosperity.

He said his government is committed to work with the new American leadership to consolidate the strong bonds of friendship between the US and Botswana.

Meanwhile, President Masisi’s immediate predecessor Ian Khama, has celebrated that the tide has turned against Donald Trump and ended his red wave of racism, tyranny, division, arrogance and so many bad traits.

“After four years of abuse of office the American voters have punished the narcissist Trump for being the one who best fit the description he labeled African countries with,” said former President  Khama.

He said the outcome of the American election is reminder that the vote, without interference, is more powerful than the voted.

Turning his message to the local leadership, President Khama thrashed the country’s current leadership.

“We too are going through a drought in leadership by a reckless, heartless and dishonest regime,” said Khama.
