Barrow presides over Gambia’s new legislative year

Banjul, Gambia (PANA) – Gambian President Adama Barrow on Thursday presided over the start of Gambia’s New Legislative Year  at the National Assembly complex in Banjul.

In a televised address to the parliament and the nation, President Barrow spelt out the achievements of his government over the past year as well as new plans, programmes and policies for the new legislative session.

From agriculture, to education, health, foreign relations and many others, the Gambian leader catalogued what he called “unprecedented development” registered in the tiny West African country within 2019.

He spoke of his government’s strong belief that “national development must be inclusive for all citizens, emphasizing that Gambians have seen development projects from the capital, Banjul, to rural areas such as Upper River Region, with new roads, bridges and other infrastructural projects being implemented.

“We have brought back life to the future and for all Gambians,” President Barrow emphasised.
